Good News All Around

I received the results from my 3 hour gestational diabetes test and all is good! My Doctor said my blood work looked perfect and there are no signs of diabetes. :) My white blood cell count was also down this visit.

The babies heart rate sounded great and my stomach continues to measure normal. We go back on July 1st for next check up and will get an ultrasound. This makes Brian and me very happy as we have been wanting to see the baby again! With this ultrasound they will measure baby Pi to determine his size at this point and estimate if I am on track for the original due date of August 31st.

28 weeks

I am still waiting on the test results from the 3 hour gestational diabetes test. I should hear something in the next few days and if not my next check-up is Wednesday.

I had a great weekend with a visit from Amy and April! Their visit was a happy ending to a long week! :) I will be sure to post pics from the maternity photo session April did soon!

27 Weeks

Sorry for the delay in posts! I missed by 26 week photo but here is my 27!

Last week I went to the doctor for my 28 week check-up and to do the gestational diabetes test. Baby's sounded great and heart rate was strong at 140! The doc thought I had a possible infection due to a high white blood cell count, but they ran extra tests and all turned out okay.

My gestational diabetes test did not look so good. All pregnant women are now required to be tested for gestational diabetes. They first do a test where you cannot eat or drink anything for 12 hours, then you drink a not so lovely orange drink, wait an hour, and they take your blood. My blood results came back today and turns out my blood sugar was high. Since I didn't "pass" the first test, I go back on Thursday for more tests. I again have to fast for 12 hours and then have the 3-hour glucose tolerance test. Not sure what the test all includes, but I know they draw my blood every hour for 3 hours (ouch!). I will be sure to take my laptop so I can keep busy. :) As soon as I receive that results of the test, I will be sure to update everyone. Fingers crossed I don't have it, but if I do, we will manage it! :)

25 Week Bump

Not so much a bump anymore :)

I returned from my trip to Midland earlier this week and had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone for attending and a big thank you to the hostesses! I will post pics of the baby shower shortly and give everyone a recap of the gifts I received.

24 week check-up went good! My blood pressure was perfect, babies heart beat was strong at 150 and I am gaining more and more weight! They also took a measurement of my stomach to determine if I am growing more than normal. I expected my measurement to be high considering, Brian was a very large baby, but all measured normal and my doc says I am right on track.

I go back in three weeks and they will do the gestational diabetes test (now mandatory for all women) and I will get my normal monthly check as well.

I go home to Midland this weekend for my Texas baby shower and cant wait! I am very excited to see everyone! I will be sure to post some pics of the shower when I get back.

23 weeks

Update for everyone on what has been going on the last few weeks:

• I finally caved and bought a pair of maternity jeans (thanks to Shannon for telling me where to buy them!) They are actually super comfortable and I am glad I finally got a pair
• Brian and I agreed on a crib and have that on order. We also agreed on the crib bedding so those are two big items checked off the to-do list
• We celebrated one year in the new house...where did the past year go?!
• I have now come to the acceptance that I will no longer sleep through the night...I think this baby's favorite spot is my bladder :)
• We are 90% in agreement on a name...but who knows that could change in the next few months
• And finally, we think that Bobo is starting to realize something is going on...and he is not too sure about it. You can see him staring at my stomach in the photo. We cant wait to see how he reacts when we bring the baby home

All in all everything is good! I have been slightly uncomfortable due to the expansion of my belly but other than that feeling great! I go for my 24 week appointment tomorrow and they will start measuring my belly. I will be sure to provide an update from that appointment at the end of the week.
